Eagle Concrete Systems Completes Corporate Headquarters
Company to use new facility to showcase construction techniques
FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2007) – Eagle Concrete Systems now has a unique marketing tool to showcase its craftsmanship in concrete and masonry construction – its new 25,177-square-foot corporate headquarters. Construction was completed ahead of schedule on the new facility in Gateway, according to Michael Leannah, the company’s CEO.
Eagle designed the building, located at 12411 Commerce Lakes Drive, to withstand hurricane-strength winds up to 150 miles per hour and demonstrate the company’s techniques of tilt-wall, poured cast-in-place and concrete block construction. The end result yielded structural strength and pleasing appearance.
The building exceeds Lee County’s 130-mile-per-hour hurricane code requirement, with all windows and doors able to withstand winds of at least 150 miles per hour, and large 16-foot overhead doors capable of withstanding 160-miles-per-hour winds. Eagle also constructed the roof from concrete for additional structural strength, and equipped the building with a diesel-powered generator in the event of power failure.
“It’s not often that a company has the opportunity to build a structure that can serve both as a headquarters for its team and a real-life showcase for its customers,” Leannah said. “We are thankful for that opportunity.”
Jason Tramonte Architect Inc. designed the new headquarters, which features a double-arched façade, radius bump-outs, reveals on the tilt-walls for architectural dimension and barrel ceiling entries. Inside, epoxy-coated concrete flooring, resembling granite allows for easy clean up. A six-foot-high, split-face block masonry wall surrounds the property, and even the parking lot demonstrates Eagle Concrete’s skill in poured concrete.
Bobby Vetri of Eagle Concrete Systems was the project executive, Dave McNamara was the project manager, and Able Limones was the project superintendent.
